Resourcing the Right Projects During Tough Economic Times
During a time when we are being asked to do more with less, Cornell University’s central IT division has been developing a tool and processes to help prioritize our IT projects so that we can do a better job of ensuring that the highest priority efforts get the resources necessary to be successful.  While this effort is not complete, what we have learned through this process and the tool we have developed may be useful for others facing similar challenges.

About the Speaker
Lisa Stensland, PMP has been practicing project management in the telecommunications , financial services, as well as higher-education for the last 11 years.  She is currently the Manager of Cornell University’s central IT Project Management Office. She also is a member of our future Ithaca Branch.

As for the project summary,

Managing a project from a quarter of the world away, using resources from half a world away…making it all work together through an effective project communication strategy... the story of Rich’s UK ERP AX Implementation.

Managing an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) implementation project is often quite challenging.  Managing an ERP implementation project across multiple continents using associates of different culture backgrounds, in a decentralized management structure across competing priorities is nearly impossible.  Find out how Rich Products overcame all those challenges through the use of PMI methodology and a solid communications plan.  See what key learning you can take away to make you and your team better.
