Event Description: 

Have you ever wondered about the use of Agile in the Rochester area? If so, this is the event for you!

Community leaders will each briefly discuss their background and experience and then speak about what the implementation of Agile has meant to their organization. Specifically, each of the speakers will discuss the following:

  • their initial agile plan
  • what has worked for their company
  • how their teams have evolved
  • what their teams have learned
  • what’s next for their organization's agile journey

Once the speakers have spoken about their respective organizations, the session will be opened up to the participants for discussion and Q&A.

Refreshments will be provided.

Speakers:

Ken Dingman is a Director of Software Engineering at L3Harris.  Ken has served in L3Harris Engineering for twenty years, originally with Harris Corporation.  Prior to L3Harris, Ken served at ABB as Product and Engineering manager for ten years.   Ken has a BS in Computer Science and MS in Software Development and Management from Rochester Institute of Technology. Currently, Ken is responsible for the SW Engineering organizations SW Development process and continuous improvement activities.  Ken has worked on Agile projects for 6 years and drove the Agile transformation in the SW Engineering Organization.

Ed Gauthier is the Director of Cloud Engineering at LenelS2, a Carrier Company. He has been delivering enterprise software at LenelS2 for 22 years, and has spent the last 15 years working with global product teams to turn agile development practices into execution. Unwilling to accept the status quo, Ed is constantly driving both his team and his business to improve the delivery of easy-to-use, customer-centric solutions. When he’s not building software, you’ll often find Ed enjoying board games with his family, or relaxing in his fishing kayak on one of New York’s serene Finger Lakes.

Charlie Hacker is a Senior Software Engineering Manager within Public Safety at L3Harris. Charlie has worked for L3Harris for twenty-five years, originally with Harris Corporation. Prior to L3Harris, Charlie worked at a number of companies, including Rochester Institute of Technology, MyHeadWave, Millenial Net, Motorola, RiverDelta Networks, Genrad, and Skywire. Charlie has a Certificate in Systems Engineering, MS in Product Development, and MS in Data Science from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Denette Mitchell-Perez is an Agile Team Coach at Wegmans Food Markets. Denette has served at Wegmans for five years as a Business Analyst, Product Owner and Agile Team Coach.  Prior to Wegmans, Denette served as Business Analyst, Test Manager and Product Owner for over 15 years at Discover Student Loans Corporation. She is currently leading teams through Agile transformation by way of training, coaching and mentoring.  Denette studied Information Technology at Rochester Institute of Technology.  Denette is a Certified SCRUM Master (CSM), Certified SCRUM Product Owner (CSPO), and Advanced Certified SCRUM Master through the Scrum Alliance.  Denette has led and supported Agile teams for the past 7 years.

Jen Wheelock is a Product Manager, Thermo Fisher Scientific, where she has served for four years. Jen previously was at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics as Associate Product Manager for about two years and served at America Red Cross for 16 years. Jen has a BS Degree in Advertising from Syracuse University and an MBA in Health Systems Administration from Rochester Institute of Technology. Jen has not worked on Agile projects, but can speak to its potential benefits and challenges as a Product Manager.
