Speaker Topic: Demystifying Project Risk Management – Quantifying What You Already Know

Speaker: Jaime Weisberg

Speaker Bio: Jaime Weisberg has worked for Palisade Corporation for almost 12 years. In her current role as Regional Sales Manager, she works to develop business in a broad region encompassing the eastern portion of Canada, upstate NY and a large portion of the southeast of the US. Previously she worked as the Academic Sales Manager, working with Professors to expose their students to Palisade tools. Jaime holds a BS in Human Development from Cornell University.

Talk Description: Most projects are laden with uncertainty and risk but little is often done to account for it. Project schedules and cost estimates can be affected by numerous factors, yet most people still rely on single point estimates and gut feel to make very large decisions. This is often due to the misperceived complexity of statistical modeling techniques and the tools used to quantify uncertainty.

In this talk, Jaime will break down how the proper tools make it simple and efficient to capture the risks in your project. With tools such as Palisade’s @RISK, you can look at your project in probabilistic terms and answer questions like, “How likely are we to complete this project on time or under budget?” With a few simple additions to your Project schedules or Excel models, you can gain the confidence to report proper information to stakeholders and see your entire exposure in a project.
