Bio
Michael has a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from Hunter College and has worked as an Owner’s Representative/Project Manager since 2004. Michael was hired as the project manager for the Ithaca Commons Repair and Upgrade project from 2013-2015. The Commons project had a budget of $15.3M and required complex coordination between multiple prime contractors and private utilities while maintaining pedestrian and emergency access in a vibrant downtown pedestrian mall.

His past work includes infill development of museum, condominium and hotel projects in New York, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles.  Prior to working in the private sector, Michael worked for non-profit organizations dedicated to community-based planning and advocating for greater public participation in the planning process.  He was the recipient of the National American Planning Association’s “American Vision Award” for Imagine New York, a project of the Municipal Art Society of New York.  Michael has lived in Ithaca with his wife and two children since 2010.
